Juniper Hall’s Festival of Nature

Juniper Hall and its wonderful grounds were filled with excited families on Saturday 20th July, and the Friends of Juniper Hall were at the Welcome Table to greet everyone as they arrived for the 2025 Festival of Nature. Pond dipping, bushcraft, moth trapping, mammal, reptile and invertebrate hunt stations attracted huge enthusiasm, despite the wet and rainy conditions that persisted until the sun finally appeared at lunch time. There was plenty to explore in the shelter of Juniper Hall itself, from Surrey Wildlife Trust’s craft activity and Wildlife Aid to local bee keepers, Surrey Bird Club, bats and the British Trust for Ornithology. Hot and cold drinks and Field Studies Council’s famously delicious cakes were available all day, as well as a lunchtime barbecue. A successful event with 130 of the 200 people booked braving the weather. There are already plans for an even bigger event next year.
