Rewilding and Knepp

An informative and entertaining review of the concept of rewilding and how the owners of the Knepp estate in Sussex have achieved great things enriching the biodiversity there. Friends of Juniper Hall committee member, Peter Almond, described how an abundance of common and rare species now thrive in the naturally evolving mosaic of habitats where unproductive farm fields used to lie. Majestic stork fly overhead and nest in massive messy collections of sticks in the oak trees where purple emperor butterflies also appear later in the summer. Nightingale song joins the unforgettable sound of the hugely rare turtle dove. A wonderful reminder of how nature repairs itself, if given the chance.
